Van Buren County Jail Mugshots

Where Van Buren County Photos Appear
Van Buren County booking photos appear beside other roster fields. That context matters. A photo alone does not show whether the charge was later changed, dismissed, or resolved. The roster can show the arrest date, charge text, bond, and court date, but VBCSO warns that charges and bail amounts may change after court appearances and may not be current.

Van Buren County Mugshot Record Fields
A public booking photo is one part of a roster entry. The roster fields around the image help distinguish one person from another and show whether the record is current, new, or recently released. The public list view also leaves out several fields. It did not show a full date of birth, height, weight, hair or eye color, housing unit, booking number, case number, warrant number, statute code, or charge class in the inspected list view.

Are Van Buren County Mugshots Public
Arkansas FOIA generally makes public records open to inspection and copying by Arkansas citizens, subject to exemptions. The research did not locate a state law requiring Van Buren County to publish mugshots online, and it did not locate a local VBCSO policy promising that every booking photo will remain on the web. The public fact found here is narrower: the official hosted roster displays booking photos on public cards when those cards are available.

Ark. Code Ann. 25-19-105 generally opens Arkansas public records to inspection and copying by Arkansas citizens, with exemptions and redactions.
Ark. Code Ann. 4-75-102 defines booking photographs and regulates commercial publish-for-pay booking-photo practices.
The booking-photo statute matters because it addresses commercial misuse of booking photos. It is not a promise that Van Buren County will remove a public roster image on request. For removal or sealing questions, use the court and agency process rather than a private photo site.
How Long Van Buren County Mugshots Stay Online
The research found a clear 48-hour structure for recent custody changes. RPS has a New Inmates tab for bookings in the last 48 hours and a Recent Releases tab for releases in the last 48 hours. The official pages did not say how long a photo remains visible after that release window, whether older photos are retained in a public archive, or whether VBCSO removes photos after dismissal, acquittal, or sealing.
What is and is not public: Current roster cards can show booking photos and charge data. Older photos, sealed records, juvenile records, and records subject to exemptions may not be available online.
If the person was released more than 48 hours earlier, the public release tab may no longer answer the photo question. The fallback is to request the record from the custodian under Arkansas FOIA, search the court case, or call the jail for routing. Do not infer innocence, guilt, or case outcome from whether a photo is still posted.
Request Van Buren County Booking Photos
For a booking photo not shown on the current, new, or recent-release roster, use a public-record request route. The county site links a Van Buren County FOIA template. The research did not extract every field from that scanned template, so use the official PDF itself for exact form content. Useful identifying details include the person's name, arrest date and time, listed charges, court date, and any known case number.

The VBCSO contact page lists info@vbcso.com, but it also warns that plain-text email is not secure for confidential, sensitive, or personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, bank or card numbers, and medical information. Mugshot Removal and Sealed Records
No official Van Buren County booking-photo removal policy was located. That means the page should not promise that a jail mugshot will be removed on demand, after release, or after a charge is dismissed. If the court record is sealed under Arkansas law, ask the court clerk and originating agency how the sealing order affects public copies, roster material, and agency records. For case outcome questions, use court records after a Van Buren County jail arrest. A booking photo belongs to the jail custody side. The court case shows whether charges were filed, amended, dismissed, reduced, or resolved by conviction. Those records should be checked before drawing conclusions from a roster photo.
State and Federal Booking Photos
State prison photos are not the same as Van Buren County booking photos. The Arkansas DOC inmate locator can show a DOC profile photo for sentenced state inmates, along with ADC number, facility, classification, sentence history, and other prison-specific fields. That photo is a state-prison profile image, not the county jail mugshot from a local booking.
Federal and immigration systems are different again. The BOP inmate locator is a federal custody locator, not a public mugshot gallery. The ICE Online Detainee Locator System searches current adult ICE detainees, but it is not a mugshot site. If the Van Buren County roster shows a U.S. Marshals hold, that may explain federal involvement, but it does not create a separate local federal photo database.
